Life @ HCCBPL

It's been almost three months since I completed my summer training at Coke and my only regret is that since I returned to DCE I haven't been able to visit the guys due to the placement season.

The training was a real eye-opener. For the first time I understood why people look forward to the weekends and how tough life is actually gonna be when I start out in Deloitte. The daily routine of waking up at 6:30 and returning home at 6:30 was just exhausting, though Mr. Arora's food and the desire to go and check out the hot chicks at the office ensured my survival. Morning traffic and that new road where 80 Kmph was the norm were probably the best things while commuting. The worst time would definitely be when I scraped a divider at 60 distracted by god knows what and was so rattled that my hands couldn't stop shaking till after 10 minutes.

The first thing in office would be to check if Anindita Guha was there and celebrate if she wasn't followed by a dash to the coffee machine (Espresso) or the refrigerator (Diet Coke) for a not so healthy breakfast. What followed was a period of boredom when I would try and get some work done. And then (finally) they would arrive ...drumroll... presenting Priyanka, Mary, Nishant, Aditya and Prabodh, managment trainees from IITs. Dude, these guys ensured that my summer holidays had the holiday part in them. The constant banter between Priyanka and Prabodh, Mary's music and wisecracks and Aditya's quick wit kept me from taking a sick leave and partying at home. The only sad day was was when Mary, Priyanka and Nishant left along with the majority of the other trainees leaving only Aditya, Prabodh and me to work for 8 hours a day. But in a sense that was when the real fun began, the furious games of CS played with one eye on the glass walls, the chick discussions and the regular coffee breaks were just too good to give up. The icing on the cake was when we were shifted to the gym for the last month of our training and our TT sessions (4 hrs daily, yeah baby yeah!) started. My weekly visits to their flat at Sushant Lok followed by a mild dosage of alcohol was also one of the highlights of the last month at Coke.

The last day was a sort of bittersweet symphony sort of thing, the happiness at successfully completing my training intermingled with a feeling of loss at leaving a place where I had spent the majority of my waking hours for 2 months. But it was all worth it.

The other trainees: Aditya, Prabodh, Mary, Priyanka, Nishant, Veena, Nikhil, Meghna, Manjunath and Ankit.

P.S. The food was also incredible... Russian Salad, Vanilla ice-cream with chocolate syrup, noodles, chinese dishes, a new chicken dish everyday... not to forget the unlimited supply of Limca...
